Our staff offers the utmost care to our patients. The course of rehabilitation consists of an initial assessment of your pet's condition, development of an appropriate rehabilitation plan to return your pet to his/her best possible functional level, and owner instruction in an appropriate home program. We remain in close contact with your veterinarian regarding your pet's progress.
We offer physical rehabilitation for:
- orthopedic trauma
- chronic pain and geriatric conditioning
- degenerative joint disease- neurologic injuries
- obesity
- athletic conditioning
- vestibular dysfunction ("old dog syndrome")
- pre-operative strengthening and conditioning
Benefits of physical rehabilitation:
- increased mobility following orthopedic or neurologic injury
- safe use of painful limb following injury or surgery
- adequate weight loss in overweight or obese patients
- manage acute and chronic pain
- increase fitness of athletic and working dogs - provide ambulatory assistance to patients requiring carts, orthotic devices or prostheses
Our rehab facility provides:
- therapeutic exercise
- therapeutic ultrasound (deep heat)
- neuromuscular electrical stimulation
- cryotherapy- heat therapy
- massage therapy
- underwater treadmill
- cart assessment and fitting
- orthotic and prosthetic assessment
